Mario Badescu A.H.A. Botanical Body Soap is an 8 oz (237 ml) body wash containing alpha hydroxy acids, and using acids on the body rather than the face is a genuinely underrated idea. Body skin — particularly on the upper arms, thighs, back and chest — develops rough texture, bumps and congestion that scrubbing does not resolve, because the problem is dead cells and keratin blocking follicles rather than surface dirt. AHAs dissolve the bonds holding those cells in place, so skin becomes visibly smoother and clearer over consistent use, and it is one of the more effective approaches to keratosis pilaris and body breakouts. Botanical extracts including grapefruit and papaya support the exfoliating action while the formula cleanses and lathers as a normal wash. Suited to rough, bumpy or congested body skin. Apply to wet skin in the shower, lather, leave a minute or two on rough areas, then rinse. Moisturise afterwards and wear sunscreen on exposed skin.
