La Roche-Posay Effaclar Micro-Peeling Purifying Gel is a 200 ml cleanser that adds exfoliation to a daily wash. The difference from the standard Effaclar gel is the inclusion of exfoliating acids, which work chemically to dissolve the bonds holding dead surface cells in place — including inside the pore, where congestion behind blackheads and blemishes actually forms. That is why a chemical exfoliating cleanser outperforms a scrub for blemish-prone skin: scrubs abrade the surface without reaching into the pore, and often irritate. Used daily it keeps pores clear, refines the look of texture and enlarged pores, and helps prevent the congestion that becomes breakouts, while cleansing away oil, makeup and build-up. It is oil-free and non-comedogenic. Formulated with La Roche-Posay thermal spring water and gentle enough for daily use, though start every other day if your skin is sensitive. Apply to damp skin, massage gently, then rinse thoroughly. Daily sunscreen is important when using acids.
