La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 Serum is a 30 ml treatment containing 10% vitamin B5, bringing the Cicaplast repair concept into a serum format. The distinction from the balm matters: the balm is an occlusive treatment for specific damaged patches, whereas this is designed for all-over use as part of a daily routine, absorbing quickly so it layers under moisturiser and sunscreen without heaviness. That makes it the right choice for skin that is generally reactive, sensitised or barrier-compromised rather than locally damaged — the state skin ends up in after over-exfoliating, retinoid use or a period of stress and irritation. At 10%, the panthenol concentration is high enough to visibly calm redness, restore comfort and repair barrier function over consistent use, so skin becomes more resilient and better able to tolerate active ingredients again. Fragrance-free and suitable for very sensitive skin. Apply a few drops to clean skin morning and evening before moisturiser. Also useful alongside retinol to reduce irritation.
