Klorane Protective Oil with Ylang-Ylang Wax is a 3.3 oz (100 ml) hair oil designed for hair exposed to sun, sea and chlorine. The protective element is the point: UV exposure, salt water and chlorinated pools all degrade the hair fibre, strip colour and leave hair dry, brittle and rough, and an oil applied beforehand creates a barrier that limits how much damage gets in — far more effective than treating the damage afterwards. Ylang-ylang wax nourishes and conditions the hair at the same time, so it works as a treatment as well as a shield, leaving hair softer, smoother and more manageable. It can be used two ways: applied before swimming or sun exposure as protection, or worked into dry ends as a conditioning treatment. Particularly worthwhile on holiday, and for coloured hair, which fades fastest in sun and salt water. Warm a few drops between palms and work through damp or dry mid-lengths and ends before exposure, or leave in overnight as a mask.
