Mario Badescu Special Cucumber Lotion is an 8 oz (237 ml) toner for oily and congested skin, and it is one of the brand's long-standing favourites. It works as a pore-clarifying astringent, sweeping away the residual oil and debris that cleansing leaves behind while helping to tighten the appearance of enlarged pores — which is the specific complaint it addresses, since a cleanser alone rarely leaves oily skin feeling properly decongested. Cucumber extract provides the counterbalance, soothing and calming the skin so the clarifying action does not leave it irritated, which is where harsher astringents go wrong.
