MAC Prep + Prime Lip Primer

MAC Prep + Prime Lip is a 0.05 oz (1 ml) lip primer, and it addresses the problems that spoil lipstick rather than adding colour of its own. Applied before lipstick it creates a smooth, even base that stops colour from feathering and bleeding beyond the lip line — the main reason bold reds and deep shades look untidy within an hour, particularly on lips with fine lines around them. It also fills and smooths the surface of the lips themselves, so lipstick applies evenly rather than catching on dry patches and flaking, and it helps colour grip and last considerably longer without fading to a patchy ring. It works with any lipstick formula, though it makes the biggest difference with liquid mattes and long-wear formulas that emphasise dry texture. Apply a thin layer to clean, dry lips, allow a moment to set, then apply lipstick as usual. Also useful for keeping lip liner sharp. Small enough for a handbag or makeup bag.
