La Roche-Posay Effaclar Micro-Peeling Purifying Gel contains 2% salicylic acid plus LHA, formulated for oily, acne-prone skin. The acid pairing is what makes it work: salicylic acid is oil-soluble, so it penetrates into the pore itself to dissolve the congestion behind blackheads and blemishes, while LHA works more gently at the surface to refine texture. That is why a chemical exfoliating cleanser outperforms a scrub here — scrubs abrade the surface without reaching inside the pore, and frequently irritate. Used daily it keeps pores clear, smooths rough texture and helps prevent congestion becoming breakouts, while cleansing away oil, makeup and build-up.
