La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Clay Mask is a 100 ml sebum-controlling treatment for oily and congested skin. Clay is the right tool for this job because it works by absorption — as it dries it draws excess oil and impurities out of the pores, which visibly reduces congestion and tightens the look of enlarged pores in a way a rinse-off cleanser cannot achieve. Used weekly it keeps oil production and congestion in check between deeper breakouts, and skin looks clearer, smoother and more refined afterwards, with a matte finish that lasts. What distinguishes it from a typical clay mask is the formulation for sensitive skin: many clay masks leave skin tight, red and stripped, whereas this includes La Roche-Posay thermal spring water and is designed not to over-dry, so it can be used regularly. Apply an even layer to clean, dry skin, avoiding the eye area, leave for five minutes, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Use once or twice weekly, and moisturise afterwards.
