La Roche-Posay Effaclar Gel Moussant Purifiant in the 400 ml size is the largest format of the brand's face wash for oily and blemish-prone skin. It cleanses thoroughly, lifting excess oil, sweat, makeup and daily build-up that contribute to congestion, but with a soap-free base rather than the harsh detergents most acne washes use — which matters, because stripping the skin triggers rebound oil production and damages the barrier, making breakouts worse rather than better. Skin is left genuinely clean and comfortable rather than tight and squeaking. It is oil-free and non-comedogenic, and because it does not sensitise the skin it works well alongside retinoids and benzoyl peroxide, which are considerably harder to tolerate on a stripped face. Formulated with La Roche-Posay thermal spring water for sensitive skin. Apply to damp skin, massage into a light lather, then rinse thoroughly and follow with a light moisturiser.
