Differin Maximum Strength Foaming Acne Face and Body Wash contains 10 percent benzoyl peroxide, the highest over-the-counter strength available. This 5 oz (150 ml) bottle is formulated for moderate to stubborn acne, killing the acne-causing bacteria in pores to clear existing breakouts and help prevent new ones forming. Crucially, it is approved for both face and body, which makes it genuinely useful for the chest, back and shoulders — areas that are frequently affected and awkward to treat with small facial products. The foaming format spreads easily and rinses clean, so the active is delivered evenly across larger areas rather than sitting in patches. As a wash-off product, it delivers the benefits of a high-strength active with less of the persistent dryness that leave-on 10 percent treatments cause. Note that benzoyl peroxide bleaches fabric — use white towels and bedding. Apply to wet skin, lather, leave briefly, then rinse thoroughly and follow with a moisturiser. Start once daily and build up as tolerated. Use sunscreen daily.
